A family story, inspired by the Australian way of life

Welcome to Australian Heritage.

Our story started with one simple belief: good clothing should make everyday life feel a little easier.

For Mark and Helen Whitmore, that belief began many years ago. As a young family, they dreamed of building a small store of their own — somewhere people could find comfortable, timeless pieces without feeling overwhelmed by changing trends.

Helen had always loved clothing, but never believed style had to be complicated. She was drawn to pieces that felt natural to wear: a lightweight blouse on a warm afternoon, a comfortable pair of trousers for a weekend away, or a favourite jacket that stayed in the wardrobe year after year.

Mark believed just as strongly in the way people should be treated. To him, a good store wasn't only about what was on the racks. It was about taking the time to help people, being honest about what you offered, and making customers feel welcome.

Together, they began building their little family dream.

Their daughter, Sophie, grew up surrounded by it.

She remembers conversations around the dinner table about new collections, customers who returned season after season, and her parents carefully choosing pieces they genuinely believed people would enjoy wearing.

But like many family dreams, life sometimes has other plans.

As responsibilities grew, Mark and Helen eventually decided to put the business aside and focus on raising their family. The dream never completely disappeared — it simply waited for the right moment.

Years later, Sophie found herself returning to the idea she had grown up with.

She realised that while fashion had changed enormously, what her parents believed in hadn't.

People still wanted clothing that felt good.

Pieces that were easy to wear.

Styles that didn't disappear after one season.

And a shopping experience that felt personal rather than complicated.

That idea became Australian Heritage.

Today, our family continues the story together, combining Mark and Helen's original values with Sophie's vision for a new generation of Australian customers.

Our collections are inspired by the relaxed Australian lifestyle — from warm afternoons and coastal weekends to everyday mornings, family gatherings and everything in between.

We look for clothing, footwear and everyday favourites that feel comfortable, practical and timeless, with styles you can reach for again and again.

We don't believe your wardrobe needs to follow every new trend.

We believe the best pieces become part of your life.

And although Australian Heritage has grown beyond the little family dream it started as, the idea behind it remains exactly the same:
